Ballfinder Scout - Easy To Use Instructions
- Step 1
Just point the light-weight Ballfinder Scout™ in the approximate area of where the ball landed as you walk towards it. The Scout will locate 'golf ball white' from up to 35 feet. As you walk to the general area of where your ball is, NOW TURN ON YOUR SCOUT.
- Step 2
Press the neon green button with your thumb, hold for 3 seconds, you will feel 3 short vibrations, wait for the demo to finish; only a couple of seconds. Hold the Scout in front of you at about waist height so you can see the screen and directional lights. Scout will act as a second pair of eyes for you as you look for your ball. Aim your Scout in the general area of where your ball may be, and keep the Ballfinder Scout™ pointing below the horizon, moving it gently across the area. Move as you would a video camera; scan very slowly from one side to the other as you walk.
- Step 3
When the Ballfinder Scout™ locates the 'golf ball white', it will vibrate for the period in which the ball remains in the frame, cursors bracket the screen on a ball, and the blue directional lights will appear in the direction of where 'golf ball white' was detected. With your eyes, look in the direction the Scout is directing you. You may see your ball at this time or you may need to continue looking. Do not push the green button a second time, this will turn the Scout off. Simply continue to scan the area until another vibration is felt.
- NOTE:
The Scout has been manufactured with a high-end LCD screen and a 3.2 megapixel camera running 6 frames per second. Due to light conditions outdoors an image would not be very visible, and there would be too much detail for you to pinpoint one area quickly and without lifting the Scout to see the screen. Therefore, let the vibration lead you to the ball. The Scout will vibrate longer and stronger as it locks on to 'golf ball white'.
- Step 4
Brilliant blue LED directional lights lead you back on track should you veer off the path to the ball. The Scout will vibrate 3 short bursts each time ' golf ball white' is detected. You may need to scan your Scout across the area to feel the vibration again. Step 5: To turn off the Scout once you have located your ball simply press the green button. The Scout will automatically turn off after 5 minutes (R&A rule on time allowed to locate your ball).
- NOTE:
The Scout aides you in finding your ball faster. The Scout is designed to locate the area of your ball faster than your eye. You may find your golf balls without the Scout, but you will find them FASTER with the Scout. Can you think of a better way to play faster, without aggravation of lost balls and there is a good chance you may also take several strokes off your game by finding lost balls instead of being penalised.
